THE TIN KNEES
We are delighted that the Tin Knees will be the house band for House of Oz for the duration of the Fringe. Come and see them most nights until 10(ish).
Introducing The Tin Knees, a theatrical music confection based in Sydney, Australia. With humble roots on Australia's east coast, in both the quaint country town of Dubbo and the bustling coastal city of Wollongong, these musicians have a unique approach to performance that's equally as brazen as it is cheeky. Indulge in a signature synth pop, surf rock, jazz infused sound with saucy lyrics that get even the most sensible mothers hot and bothered. Lead by the unapologetic creativity of Leonardo Sunshine on lead vocals and guitar, with synth pop sensation Genie Baby on vocals and keys, the enigmatic Quinton Kiss on lead guitar, the sensual Dexter Sex on saxophone, and the iconic rhythmic brothers, Coco Sugar on bass and Frankie Desire on drums.
The band had its beginnings playing gigs at local music venues, including Wollongong's dearly departed and legendary RAD Bar. After winning the University of Wollongong Jam competition in 2018, The Tin Knees took to the stage at Yours & Owls music festival. Two years of hustle and grind later, in early 2020, they released their debut EP 'The Tin Knees Are Dead' with an EP tour, quickly selling out. The band's success continued upward as the plucky pandemic jam "Has Anybody Seen My Will To Live?" went viral on Leo's TikTok, skyrocketing The Tin Knees into a niche, international following. Currently, they plan to conquer the streets of Sydney, while also hoping to someday perform overseas for their international fans.
